but for our new readers, will you inform us once
more what your parents named you?”
My name is Remus Lupin. Remus is the name of the
fellow founder of Rome, died, leaving Romulus the ruler
of Rome. Raised by wolves, young Remus and his twin brother
started Rome together, but tensions arose between the two brothers.
As for my last name, it means wolf. And my middle is John, after my father.
“Remind us again when you were born? I can
never get enough of the story surrounding
your birth.”
I was born in London, like most babies around the area. My mother
had gone into labor, and my Dad rushed her to the hospital. Nothing
very special happened that day.
“Okay, be honest here. Which are you in to
more: guys or dolls? Don't worry, our lips
are sealed.”
*clears throat* That’s a very personal question.
If I must answer, and I feel I will be forced, I am
attracted to… ahem… dolls, as you put it. In fact,
I have my eye on a woman… Forget I said that. I
do not have my eye on any woman at the moment.
Yes, that’s it… You don’t believe me do you?
“Alright, on to the good stuff. What do you do
in your spare time? Any favorite past times?”
Well, there is always reading and studying even though I am
not in school any longer. I don’t normally have free time, and
with Sirius… Siri – excuse me… *clears throat* now that Sirius
is gone, I no longer really have any friends to spend time with.
Sometimes, if the day is right, I will have a nice chocolate bar.
Or I’ll request more work to do for the Order. I don’t really
have much to do in my spare time, so I might as well work.
Occasionally, I will feel up to writing a letter to Harry at Hogwarts.
Or a letter to… someone else… that she… I mean, they will
probably never read anyways.
“Tell me: what are your favorite things in the
entire world? Those special things that just
make you want to smile?”
Nymphadora… Er… I mean, a smile. Whenever someone
smiles and laughs and makes jokes, with… er… that person’s
amazing optimism and attitude. A good book could get a smile
out of me, if I’m in the right mood and it’s the right book. Remembering
my years at Hogwarts does bring a smile to my face, though its more of
a sad kind of smile, because I know I can never have them back. While
I am in the meetings, I tend to be happier, not only because Nymph- I mean
others are there, but because I feel important. I feel that I’m needed and that
my life isn’t a waste of life. Chocolate. Chocolate brings a smile to my face
especially if it’s going to be eaten by me. If not, that’s just cruel to eat it in front
of me.
“And sadly we all know that there are things
that we just can't stand. What are yours?”
I can’t stand feeling like I’m useless, that I’m wasting my time
and the breathe that I have been given while others who deserve
the time I have had more than I have died prematurely. Then again,
I also hate the Death Eaters and the way they are recruiting other
beings like me, feeding off the hopelessness the Ministry has made
them feel. Which is why I also hate the Ministry. I wish others like
me would see that the Order is the only way to be freed from it. Also,
the person I hate the most in this world is Fenrir Greyback. I know it
is a bit selfish to say when there are plenty of people who deserve my hate
more than the werewolf who turned me into the thing that has made me an
outcast for all of my life, such as Voldemort and others. However, that monster
has turned so many lives into a living torture, I can never forgive him nor can
I say I hate Voldemort more than I hate that monster. I also hate when others are
rude other people for no reason it seems to me, but their reason being superiority
over other people. Discrimination. I believe that nearly everyone is the same and
no one should be treated as under them.
“Any short or long term goals? Where do
you see yourself five years? In ten? How
do you plan to get there?”
I see myself still living without any of my friends, and Voldemort
still around. However, in my ideal world, Voldemort would be
dead and I would be able to connect with Harry more than I have
been able to in the past, as my last link to anything great in my life
that I know loved me back. I see myself alone, even though I do
crave a companion and a family, but it would be too dangerous, and so
that is impossible.
“What makes you quake in your boots?
If you had to pick one thing that scared
you the most, what would it be?”
Fenrir Greyback changing Harry into a werewolf along
with… other members of the Order. I hope to prevent
that from ever happening, but it scares me very much.
“Is there a significant other in your life? How
do you do with relationships?”
You’re bringing that up again? I-I don’t have anyone
nor will I ever if I have anything to say about it… Erm…
And there is… no one… yeah no one, especially not a woman
named Nymphadora Tonks who I fancy to a point I am quite
scared of it. Yeah, I don’t…
“Now, you know that we adore you, but let's
talk about some other people for a little bit. A
little bird told me that you have some pretty
well known parents. Who are they?”
*sighs* Well, my father was an auror, but retired when I was
a child, and went on a search for the cure to my… condition. But
he never quite got onto the search. Mostly he was home, and he…
wasn’t the nicest man in the world. Now, Mum, she was extremely
nice, a muggle-born healer, and did her best to support the family and
find the cure to my condition at the same time. However… when I got older,
everything caught up to her, and she went a bit insane, burning pictures with
my father in them, before she died not long afterwards. I wish I could have been
there to help her that year, because all she needed was someone there, but I had
school, and she broke.
“Any other important people in your family?
Did you parents have any other children?”
No, I don’t have any. I used to have people I considered family, but
they are all gone. I-I miss them terribly, but I must move on, haven’t I?
Even though I do not wish to?
“How about pets? How many do you have?”
Once I had an owl my mother had found, when I was in my
5th year, and she nursed the owl back to health. He was a good
owl, but he’s gone just like everyone else is.
“Okay, you have to have known that we were
going to ask. What's your biggest and best
kept secret? I won't tell.”
My biggest secret is NOT that I do NOT have an eye
on Nymphadora Tonks, or that I think I might be in
complete and utter love with her. No, no, my biggest
secret must be that… that I really enjoy a few romance
novels and… occasionally… I, erm, do, erm, wish I was in
one.
“Ok, so who are you loyal to? Dumbledore's
Army, The Dragon's Fire, The Order of the Phoenix,
The Death Eaters, or none of them?”
The Order, of course.
“Interesting! Now finally, the last question.
What time are you from, Harry's or the Marauders'?”
Harry’s. The year 1996, in fact, at the end of his 5th year. I have just…
lost Sirius a couple of days ago. I am currently going by the name of
Romulus Cage, to hide my true identity, and I am doing things for Dumbledore
in order to help progress the fight against Voldemort.
