Scorpius Hyperbion Malfoy is odd for a pureblood boy. Though he grew up in the Malfoy house, which has a bad reputation for being obnoxiously pureblood, he is a rather tolerant boy. He was born on December 21, 2006, the longest and coldest night of the year. He grew up seeing his father more than his mother, the complete opposite of most pureblood sons. His parents weren't truly in love, he had known that his entire life, but they were good parents. His mother cared for the house and had her job, his father had his, but it was he who cared for Scorpius. Draco had learned a lot from his school days. He learned that parenting wasn't something to be taken lightly, and that his father had made him the arrogant brat that no one truly liked. Scorpius became a humble boy who enjoyed a bit of confidence and cockiness, but never really meant it. When Scorpius was eight he met a little girl his age. Her hair was a unique redish brown, frizzed beyond belief, her eyes were grey, and her smile was contagious. Scorpius learned that she was Rose Weasley, daughter of his father's school enemies, but two people who changed his life. His parents knew that he would run off to visit her in the apple orchard outside of her family house, but they never showed any knowledge that they knew who he was visiting. (He learned many years later that his father had known all along, but said nothing to anyone for fear of restarting the grudge between him and Ron.) This little girl stayed his friend up to and through Hogwarts. She, of course, ended up a Gryffindor, and he, surprisingly, ended up a Hufflepuff. The sorting hat had issues trying to sort him, fighting between Hufflepuff and Slytherin, but eventually chose the former, believing that it gave Scorpius more room to grow and develop into the person that he seemed to want to become. (Scorpius later learned that the hat also gave him a better shot with Rose, as house boundaries, though thinner, still existed between Gryffindor and Slytherin.) Through his years at Hogwarts, Scorpius and Rose got closer and closer. Albus, one of Scorpius's close friends, though that they would end up dating, but as of when Scorpius ended up in the past, that hadn't yet occurred. Scorpius was nearly 16 when he was sent back in time, having almost completed his fifth year at Hogwarts. Scorpius has spent his time in this past looking for Rose and half-hoping she would pop up one day. The rest of the time, he spends flying his broom, which was a lot harder than it had once been because the brooms were so much older models. Upon arriving in the past, Scorpius hit a culture shock. Slytherins were so much worse now then they were when he had attended. He, of course, knew this was because the battle had not yet occurred, but it was still very different. He began to hate Slytherins in all that they were. He was thoroughly glad that Lucius Malfoy, his grandfather, had graduated the previous year in the time that he had arrived, because that was one man he never wanted to meet. Scorpius has changed a lot from
