Been trying to do it right (Cas)

Perrie was walking up to the dance. She was so nervous, just earlier that day her friends had said they were going to push her up on stage and make her sing in front of everyone that came to the dance that evening. She was so scared... In her thigh length sapphire blue dress, she walked into the hall and looked around. At first she didn't see anyone she reconized but her eyes fell upon a familliar figure that made her heart skip a beat. She turned away and blushed. She couldn't do this now, no, she had to keep her cool. He didn't like her like that anyway. They were only friends. Right? She walked up behind him and placed her hands over his eyes.

"You've been kidnapped! Get me punch and no one gets hurt!" she chuckled. Really? Punch? Where did she get that one? Oh well, now she just had to sit back and laugh... or be cute or whatever it was she did around him.

Cas didn't make a point of coming to dances. Sin, sin, sin everywhere, and he couldn't even have a decent conversation for the music that got played. He'd come to this one, though, for a few reasons: his sister wanted to go (she was around, somewhere), and he'd been promised that Perrie would be there in a dress. So far, though, no Perrie, and his sister had vanished. This was a disappointment. He wasn't having fun, and he wanted to go back to his dorm.

That was, of course, before hands covered his eyes and laughter filled his ears from his favorite voice in all the world: Perrie. He wondered if she could hear his heart pounding away in his chest, the traitorous little muscle.

"But Madame Kidnapper! I can't get you punch if I can't see!" he replied, going along with Perrie's joke and laughing the whole time.

Perrie chuckled and uncovered his eyes. She smiled and messed with the hem of her purple dress. She did a quick turn around to ask how it looked. She wanted to just ask him to dance right then but it'd be weird. It wasn't like they were a couple or anything but her biggest problem was what would her friends think? She smiled again and blushed. There was no denying she was nervous, but she kept having that feeling that her friends were going to come up behind her and push her on the stage. That would be bad. She wasn't a bad singer at all she just hated singing in front of people.

And Cas just looked so perfect. So awkward but perfect.. She swallowed her words, she couldn't say anything stupid.

"So, what do you think? I know, I look horrible. Just tell it to me straight.." She said looking at her converse covered feet. "Who said I can't wear my converse with my dress?" She sang.

He turned to face her as she twirled around to show off her dress, looking for an opinion. How to give her his actual opinion and not be an awkward weirdo? Or worse, start babbling in Latin again. Oh, God, no. No more of the babbling in Latin; it was embarrassing. On another note, he would have loved to ask her to dance. See previous mental monologue for why he didn't. He was determined to not start mental flipping out again. Julie would never let him hear the end of it.

Where was Julie? Oh. God. She set him up. That little...he'd get her. Oh, he'd get her good. After thanking her profusely because, really, Perrie looked lovely.

"Horrible? What is this ridiculous word?" he scoffed. "You look lovely, Perrie. Purple's always been your color."

He smiled when she sang. He loved her voice, even if she got the worse stage fright. The converse with dress thing just got added to his "List of Amazing Perrie Things," which was beginning to get rather long.

Perrie looked at her toes, he thought purple was her colour? She honestly could feel her heart jumping in her throat. Her mind kept telling her to dance with him, but a smaller part screamed stop. Her luck, she'd be pushed. And wait, where did Julie go? She'd said to meet at the front. Now it hit her, this was supposed to be a date. It made her turn a darker shade of red. She panicked and started to humm to herself.

"T-thanks.." She stuttered, she hated being shy.. If she were more outgoing she wouldn't be ignored and teased. She was the sweet slytherin others hated. "W-would y-you l-like t-t-to d-dance?" She finally choked.

Perrie had a look on her face that suggested this whole meeting was Julie's doing. Of course. She enjoyed to meddle, Cas' little sister. He'd talk to her later about it, because, honestly, he was getting pretty sick of her butting into his love life, as much as he adored Julie. Anyway, she was probably watching right now and having a good laugh at his expense, the brat. It wasn't his fault that he couldn't ask Perrie to dance...

Okay, maybe it was, but still. Tremendously unfunny. So unfunny that unfunny was laughing. Julie could have at least told him that she was setting him up on a date.

"I'd love to!" he replied quickly, grinning so much that he thought it might make his face split. He offered her a hand shyly.

Okay. Maybe this plan of Julie's was a good one.

Perrie was a little confused at first. She was sure he'd say thanks but no thanks and she was sure she heard it... But his hand was out... Offered to her. Her first instinct was to take his hand. But what if it was all a joke to make her look bad.. Oh well she needed to take the chance.

She took his hand cautiously and walked out to the dance floor. Luckily it wasn't a faster song. Either way, her heart was beating out of her chest and she was holding his hand and she thought she was going to pass out.

"So um..." She said.
