The Beginning of the End (Harry)

Ginny had told Harry to meet her here, in a random abandoned alleyway, before the Death Eaters meeting they had been invited to. She wanted him to see her new look so he wouldn't react to her at the meeting. They could not let Voldemort realize that they knew each other. She had chopped off about six inches of her hair and dyed it an unnoticeable brown. She didn't want to look anything like Ginny Weasley, just in case someone happened to recognize her from the school. Harry's look was so much more... normal than her red hair. She paced back in forth, wondering where he was. If he didn't hurry they'd end up late to the meeting and she knew that wasn't a good idea.

She thought about the past year she and Harry had spent preparing. They had spent every evening she wasn't at Quidditch practice working on occlumency. During that time she had learned that Harry was an animagus. A fact that Voldemort was told, to be of use during spying tasks Voldemort assigned him. Ginny spent hours and hours with her fellow Slytherins, convincing them that, excepting James, she hated all Gryffindors and had converted to a follower of Voldemort. They all believed her and the time spent with them got her the attitude and belief systems that the death eaters had so she could fit in better. She heard footsteps and turned to see Harry, "like the new look?"

Harry was worried.  More than worried.  Almost frightened out of his wits, the anxiety of actually making the dive completely undercover.  But he managed to hide that fairly well.  Harry and Ginny were going to meet up before the meeting they were about to attend and pretend they didn't know each other.  Now Harry had taken his own precautions, and changed his appearance somewhat.  Dumbledore helped him make his scar not visible, and so he didn't have to wear glasses anymore.  He still looked like his father, but if there were time travelers, perhaps they may suspect, but they wouldn't know for a fact that it was him.  Dumbledore offered to change his eyes so that they were blue instead of his mother's, but Harry had refused.  His eyes were a connection to his mother he would never give up, and his patronus was the connection to his father, who was there to protect him. 

Harry hurried towards the alleyway where they were set to meet, seeing someone there, he barely even recognized her, having to take a double take.  It was such a different look.  While he liked her old look with the red and longer hair better, she looked beautiful all the time anyways... or most of the time, actually.  "It's... different," Harry replied nervously rubbing the back of his neck.  Harry didn't know it, but he was very stupid sometimes and how to handle feelings, especially with women.

Ginny laughed, seeing how uncomfortable and nervous he was, "I wasn't going for anything more than different." At least he hardly recognized her, that was the whole point. The only thing she didn't change was her voice. Even her patronus had recently changed from a stag, like James, to an owl, which she knew represented Harry. She really went out of her way to be unrecognizable, even changed her wardrobe slightly choosing clothing that was a bit more revealing and more often black or grey than anything else.

"As long as no one recognizes me, we should be set," she smiled, "I'm glad Dumbledore managed to hide your scar, that would probably tip him off a touch. Hopefully he won't react to it because it hasn't yet occurred in his time line," that was one of the things she worried about. That prolonged exposure to Voldemort would start to affect his scar and Voldemort would begin to notice. "You do still look a bit like James, however..."
